Before I start I shall quickly give a summary of how my 1st month went in college before I met these truly awesome guys one Wednesday...
Well, it goes somewhat like this. I came to college thinking that I would make many good friends, stay awesome, have fun the sanely insane type, watch the stars shine under the campfire, play my guitar, and sing songs, will go on drives with each others' families and just make a lifetime out of it. But it was not really turning out as I dreamt it to be. There were a few guys in my class who were the company I was just dragging my days, in college. I had heard and read about college bunkers and I was quite excited to start bunking myself. But these guys were some heck of a kind. their idea of bunks was "Bunk classes and smoke in an alley while gossipping about each other behind backs" or "go to someone's mess and smoke some more". I kept thinking at nights, that was this the college life I really wanted? In every sentence of your conversation with them, at LEAST two dirty slangs were COMPULSORY, and without that you were just too low for their league. So back to this Wednesday which turned me around...
I was as usually getting bored in the 2nd period, hoping those guys (of my class) will bunk the next. So eventually we all got outside the class to bunk and we reached downstairs near the garden where the 4 of them were planning to go to someone's mess so that they can order some cocktail. I was just an idiot with them, I just ran back upstairs coz I felt that attending boring classes was better than boozing or smoking. So there I was still hoping for a rescue which came by the end of the period. I have met Aditi before that Wednesday, even though it was a brief meeting but at least she knew me. It was around midday when I caught a glimpse of Aditi and her group passing the corridor. I sms-ed her and asked her to wait near the library. As soon as the class got over I ran downstairs searched near library but they were nowhere to be seen. So I gave her a call, she talked something I didn’t understand and she called back but this time it was Arka talking. he asked me to come behind the college near the Techno Model school. I ran there to find Arka waving at me at a distance.

There they were. I was introduced to Pratip, Aritra, Debopama and Nirmalya. I didn't realise then that I was meeting the guys who would influence my WHOLE LIFE henceforth. We were going towards the spot when I introduced to Pritam who was drenched with clay from the football practice and didn’t accompany us further. We carried our way to the spot they kept talking about. And there is was the Famous PAPANDAS Spot! Extraordinarily Simple but CLassy and Adventurous at the very first sight. The lake was large and calm, and the wildernesses were Eye Catching all around. Even though the day was cloudy and drenchy but nothing seemed to disturb the beauty of the Spot. It was only a little Shack, just enough spacious for all of us to sit, and the roof was just Open sky. There we were just trying to find some things to discuss. I don’t know what spell they cast on me but I felt much More closer to these guys in those 15 minutes than I ever felt to those guys I was forcing myself to hang out with the whole month!
The real story began after we set off for class a little while later. I was walking behind and when we had reached the crossroad, we found Nirmalya and Arka crossing a large pot hole with their pants rolled up and were gesturing us to follow. The girls protested at first but, I dunno why, I followed at once and then we were all crossing a River of drainage wastes which was supposed to be a non-pitched alley in drier times. Arka was leading, Nirmalya was behind after that Pratip and then Adi and behind her was me, behind me were Aritra and Debopama helping each other :P . Aditi was producing loads of Sound effects as she kept on moving and we were all laughing and chatting and still clicking pictures (we had the habit of clicking pictures without even thinking! so get used to it). Now we were somewhere we had no idea about, it was the opposite side of the lake but along the lake it was dead end. Eventually, It had started raining, everyone brought up their umbrellas and Nirmalya was mad enough to tie his hanky around his forehead only and let rest of his body get drenched. But I had to care about a cell phone or else I had a wish to do the same which I did later after stuffing my phone into my bag :P. The rain which was supposed to make it worse, surprisingly made it Better somehow. So we were all walking watching our steps through a lifetime Deposit of different species of shits but acting like it was EXACTLY the thing we wanted :D.
So there we were, somewhere in the middle of nowhere coz we had just no idea how far we were from college, or from anywhere of our knowledge. By then, Aditi had gained the crown of producing every possible sound effect a DJ could require, Debopama had scorned more than usual, more than twenty photographs were clicked risking the drenching of Aditi's CyberShot camera and each one of us had stepped on at LEAST on one of the shits of different species avaialble in that area. Now we were looking for someone who could tell the way but there was no one to be seen around us. We had to risk something so we asked Arka to lead the way and we took his landline number in case if something happens to us then we were supposed to call up his mother (she is a very dear lady, i should tell you here), and tell her that it was "ALL" Arka's fault. :P, And we continued our Bizarre adventure which was insanity to everyone who were sitting in that mess boozing, or who didnt share the same thinking as ours (ya that's more generalised than the generalised coordinates). We kept walking risking our getting lost and Arka risking both, his getting lost "and" parents' call. The road luckily (the road or watever it was) kept widening, and we reached somewhere I thought looked remotely familiar with somone's mess and there was a ray of hope. But then Nirmalya had to make it a bit difficult, for he had started walking back to where we came from and asking us to do the same. I swear if I had known him then, like I do now, I would have smacked him but I asked them to at least stay there and ran forward to look for the way, and we found a couple of third years (girls) and asked desperately that was this the way to our college and to my relief they nodded! I gestured the rest to come forward which they did and eventually we came to a Shop which we named the PAPANDAS shop out of excitement! By now, all of those guys had become good friends of mine and i kept hoping I was theirs.
Aditi bought a 2 Litre Sprite for all of us and Arka gave his famous McDowell’s pose here. Some more pictures were clicked, pairs of feet washed from the collected rain water from the roof of the PAPANDAS shop, and it was time to relax and everyone was so happy for everything that happened. We stopped by for a long chat, I didnt care even though I was late for my class which they were planning to bunk. And there we were, who gave me a reason to look forward to college, when I lost all hope of surviving that place. After this, there was no looking behind, those guys grew as my BESTEST friends in a day! And they never left me alone and I know they never will, and to tell you something, nor will I :)
After I bade goodbye to them, they had some more fun that i missed... And you will find out what happened next in the comments below which I am gonna force them to write :P ...
